This tool patches Wii ISOs to disable firmware updates from running off the disc, thus preventing bricking when running the ISO on a different region Wii. Changelog: v1.0: Patch your import games which contain an update in order to remove it, and so you don't risk too brick your console. V1.1: Add a menu, thanks, and little optimization v1.2: - New Open Dialog, I think i run on Vista (waiting for your reaction on Wii-Addict.com).
Well I'm not specifically talking about your Wii tc, but i hope all modded consoles get bricked up. Bigboi500 Hehe, it's ok, my Wii is 100% 'clean' and unmodded, but the only thing I used that is unofficial is the freeloader. Oh well, I don't mind the freeloader getting blocked, the only reason I bought it is for SSBB, which is only temporary because I plan to buy the EU version when it's out!(I can't find any online matches online, mabye because I am far away from the US, so I have low piority finding players, etc.).
Anyway, thanks! The Freeloader does nothing to the actual Wii, so using it can't brick your Wii. The only thing that might go wrong with the Freeloader is that an update from Nintendo might stop the Freeloader from working. With that said, I don't know if the update with MK would stop the Freeloader from working. But you don't have to worry about it bricking your Wii. JordanElek nah i think your wrong.
If your update is lower than the update necessary to play mario kart wii. The game would ask you to update your firmware and thus will download an american firmware and thus brick your wii. So if your wii is 3.0 E (which is europe) and the firmware necessary to play MK is 3.2 E. The game will update and change the firmware to 3.2 U (which is american which is bad) However if your firmware is 3.2E the game thinks its 3.2 U for some reason and will still make you update but won't brick your wii. So to sum up, make sure to have the latest firmware that doesn't stop the freeloader from working. Don't keep it low otherwise you have to update the firmware from the game which could brick your wii. And finally use the internet and don't rush into things to make double sure.
Hope i helped and didn't confuse. [QUOTE='EnigmaticBeauty']Can Nintendo legally brick the free loader, afterall, Datel is a proper company and to do so would surely infringe its rights and cause a lot of losses for the company? AransomAre you infringing on a burglar's rights when you keep a German Shepherd in your backyard? Datel has no legal right for their product to work with the Wii because Nintendo hasn't granted them a license. Then can't Nintendo sue them and if they're not licenced, how come they're allowed to release these things on the market? Never had bottle to use update from games disc when prompted (wii chess, Donkey kong jet race, etc), so have been using wii blocker.
But now Mario karts does not work by just using wii blocker, I have had to take the plunge and use update. Wii originally on 3.0E and now i have just upgraded using mario Karts it is 3.2E. AND EVERYTHING STILL WORKS and allows me to play the Game. Got D2C wii Key installed, but do not run NTSC patched Games, so for those who use free Loader can not help. But to those thousands who only run PAL and have a wiikey (D2C Version) and like myself have never been able to get a staright answer from forums the upgarde on Mario Karts does not brick your wii.:).
